Chittagong Port Achieves Zero Waiting Time for Vessels
Chittagong Port has reached a major milestone in operational efficiency, with September, October, and November recording zero waiting days for multiple incoming vessels. Ships are now receiving on-arrival berthing, ensuring faster import delivery and timely export shipments.
This significant improvement comes from strategic upgrades, including:
– New container-handling equipment
– Expanded yard capacity
– Advanced digital systems and technology adoption
– Dedicated efforts from port personnel
As a result, overall performance has strengthened across the board. In the first 10 months of 2025, the port achieved:
– 4.87% growth in container handling
– 12.64% growth in cargo handling
– 10.97% growth in ship handling
